Better Quality Sheared Parts - Faster

Piranha ironworkers have a unique type of material Hold-Down using urethane to clamp the material being sheared (round, square or flat bar or angle iron) to the shear table.

• BETTER ACCURACY – Piranha’s Unique Automatic Urethane Hold-Down CLAMPS the material and holds it in place as it is shearing, preventing it from getting out of square. Other manufacturers use a mechanical Hold-Down that does not automatically clamp the material.
• BETTER QUALITY - This unique Piranha feature, coupled with a low rake angle blade, reduces deformation and twisting during the shearing process. Other manufacturers have higher rake angles that increase the amount of twist, while mechanical Hold-Downs are not as effective as urethane clamping for keeping material from deforming.
• FASTER SET-UP – Piranha’s quick and easy adjustment system allows the Hold-Down to service a range of material thicknesses merely by moving a spring-loaded pin setting (no tools or shimming required!). Other manufacturers require time-consuming manual adjustments for each material thickness by loosening and tightening their manual gate.
